What Is a Humanities Teacher? Humanities is the study of human culture and society, including art, language, and history. As a humanities teacher, it is your job to teach these subjects to students. Your duties are to promote education and foster a safe learning environment. A humanities education preserves the great accomplishments of the past, provides insight into and understanding of the world we live in, and provides the tools to imagine the future. It is through a humanities education that students are empowered to make moral, spiritual, and intellectual sense of the world.
