Program Area Spotlight: Construction The construction program area includes the following pathways: Carpentry HVAC If you are a student who likes to work with your hands, these pathways could be for you. Both pathways offer an entry point into an extremely high demand field.

Jobs can be categorized into five different types of construction: fire-resistive, non-combustible, ordinary, heavy timber, and wood-framed

Some of the main Construction jobs you will find are as followed

  • Residential building construction.
  • Industrial construction.
  • Commercial building construction.
  • Heavy civil construction.

Construction is a general term meaning the art and science to form objects, systems, or organizations, and comes from Latin constructio and Old French construction. To construct is the verb: the act of building, and the noun is construction: how something is built, the nature of its structure.

The Meade County College & Career Center offers career pathway opportunities for Meade County High School students (which align with ECTC’s technical programs), along with Meade County Adult Education, which is coordinated by ECTC. The College & Career Center is serving as a satellite campus for ECTC to offer evening college classes at the facility.
