Fatal Shooting KSP Investigates
It was a January 30 Sunday morning 2023 in Estill County, when deadly confrontation struck a quiet home along Richmond Road where a man shot and killed during home invasion.
Kentucky State Police (KSP) were called to the scene of a fatal shooting where they found 43-year-old Jeffrey Johnson of Irvine, lifeless with an apparent gunshot wound.
KSP investigations reveal that Johnson had entered the residence armed, but was quickly met by the brave male occupant inside. In a split-second decision, the occupant retrieved a firearm and unfortunately had to use it, resulting in Johnson’s death.
As the state police continue their investigation, the victim’s body is being taken to Frankfort for a full autopsy. At this time, no charges have been filed in connection to the incident.
