The Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program is a program to attempt to keep “the brightest” rising high school seniors inside the state of Kentucky. The program is a five-week program over the summer for students between their junior and senior years of high school.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors.
The Governor’s Scholars Program strives to enhance Kentucky’s next generation of civic and economic leaders. Established in 1983, the program provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience. Students must complete an application and compete with others from across the state. Those selected attend the program free of charge.
