Louisville’s downtown is continuing to grow as a center for entertainment and culture. The city has over two dozen museums and over thirty art galleries. The oldest art gallery in its original location is Phoenix Artist Guild, opened in 1935 by a group of local artists who wanted to promote contemporary arts and help artists financially struggling during the Great Depression.
